I enjoy my work, and I enjoy talking about it. I have appeared at the Cheltenham, Hay and Edinburgh book festivals, and spoken at schools around the UK, and as far away as Germany. I am comfortable in big venues, and in smaller classroom groups. I have talks prepared on seven topics, all with digital slide shows. Most are based on books I have written for children or adults, but two are about the process of writing. I charge the rates recommended by the Society of Authors for lectures, workshops and events.

Mr. Platt’s recent visit was undoubtedly the highlight of our academic year. A dynamic presenter and a delight to work with, I highly recommend Richard Platt to any school looking for an exceptional visitor to inspire young readers and writers.
