I enjoy my work, and I enjoy talking about it to anyone who will listen! I have appeared at the Cheltenham and Edinburgh literature festivals, and spoken at schools in Kent and East Sussex, close to my home, and as far away as Germany and the Netherlands. I am comfortable in big venues, and in much smaller groups in bookshops and classrooms. I have talks prepared on seven topics, all with digital slide shows. Most are based on books I have written for children or adults, but two are about the process of writing. Generally I charge the rates recommended by the Society of Authors for lectures, workshops and events.

Mr. Platt’s recent visit was undoubtedly the highlight of our academic year. A dynamic presenter and a delight to work with, I highly recommend Richard Platt to any school looking for an exceptional visitor to inspire young readers and writers.
